University Application and Admission Procedures

Can I apply to universities in Turkey without an exam (using my diploma grade)?

Yes, you can apply directly to our more than 50 partner foundation universities in Turkey without any entrance exam requirement, using only your high school diploma grade or grade point average (GPA). Minimum GPA thresholds vary by department and university, and our advisors present the options best suited to your profile.

What basic documents are required for university application?

At the initial stage, the photo page of your valid passport, your high school diploma (or an official student certificate indicating you are about to graduate), and your high school transcript are sufficient. Certified translations of your documents in Turkish or English will expedite the admission process.

I am in my senior year of high school and have not received my diploma yet. Can I apply?

Yes, you can apply while studying in your final year of high school. If your diploma is not issued yet, you can complete your conditional admission application with an updated transcript from your school and an official student certificate stating you are in the graduation phase. Once your diploma is issued, you submit it to the university during final registration.

How long does it take to receive an Acceptance Letter after applying?

After submitting your documents completely, your conditional acceptance letter (Offer Letter) from our partner foundation universities is usually issued within 2 to 5 business days. At state universities, admission results are announced collectively on specific dates depending on the application calendar.

Tuition Fees, Expenses, and Scholarships

How much are annual university tuition fees in Turkey?

Tuition fees vary depending on the chosen university, faculty, and language of instruction. Annual tuition for associate and undergraduate degree programs generally starts from $1,500, while clinical health programs such as Medicine and Dentistry range between $10,000 and $25,000. You can message our advisor to find out the current tuition fee for your selected department.

Does ThinkTürkiye provide scholarships or tuition discounts to students?

How and where are university tuition payments made?

You deposit the university tuition deposit and semester fees directly into the official bank account of the respective university under your own name via the secure payment portal provided by the university. ThinkTürkiye never collects tuition fees in cash or through personal accounts.

Are ThinkTürkiye consulting services paid?

Your inquiries and initial consultation meeting are completely free. The service fees for our university placement, visa, accommodation, and airport transfer packages are determined based on the service you choose and are communicated to you transparently in writing beforehand. You make tuition fee payments directly to the university's own official bank account.

Student Visa and Residence Permit (İkamet)

Do I have to obtain a student visa after receiving acceptance?

We guide you to prepare your consulate file completely with your acceptance letter, passport, financial proof document, and tuition payment receipt.

How do I apply for a student residence permit?

Is it mandatory to take out student health insurance?

Language Training and Exams (TR-YÖS / TÖMER)

Can I study at a university in Turkey without knowing Turkish?

Yes. You have two options: you can apply directly to a program taught 100% in English, or you can enroll in a program taught in Turkish and start by taking 1 year of TÖMER preparatory Turkish language education at the university. When you receive your TÖMER certificate, you proceed directly to the 1st year.

What is a TÖMER certificate and what level is required?

The TÖMER certificate is an official certificate issued by universities' Turkish Teaching Centers certifying a student's Turkish proficiency. To start directly in undergraduate programs taught in Turkish, a C1 level TÖMER certificate is generally required. If your level is insufficient, you can obtain this document by taking 1 year of preparatory language training.

What is the TR-YÖS exam and who should take it?

TR-YÖS (Examination for Foreign Students in Turkey) is a central examination whose schedule is announced by ÖSYM. When applying to foundation universities, TR-YÖS is not required; you can register directly with your high school diploma grade.
